The Buried Village is a family business in Rotorua, dedicated to preserving the physical and spiritual, cultural and heritage value of the Village of Te Wairoa. Visitors can view the excavated Maori whare and settler buildings, and see artifacts and remnants recovered from the village. They can also take a journey through the museum which tells the story of Te Wairoa village, the voyages to the Pink and White Terraces and the eruption of Mount Tarawera.
