The Buried Village goes EcoStore

Jun 18, 2009

The Buried Village goes EcoStoreThe Buried Village has always been a leader in adopting sustainable practices and in March this year the business did it again when it moved to using EcoStore products for all its main cleaning operations. “We made a bulk purchase of dishwashing liquid, general cleaning concentrate, floor cleaner, toilet cleaner and glass cleaner” says Manager Pam McGrath. Initially Pam was concerned that high quality eco friendly chemicals would be very expensive to use. “I’m happy to report that all the EcoStore products have been very cost effective and what’s more, staff have given them their stamp of approval” says Pam.

According to Pam there were a number of reasons for choosing EcoStore products including the sensitive environment they operate in and EcoStore’s reputation for quality products. However, two of the key reasons were EcoStore’s history and integrity. “EcoStore developed eco friendly products when other chemical manufacturers didn’t know or care about the impact their products were having on the environment. Furthermore, it is only recently that other manufacturers are removing unnecessary bulking agents from their products while EcoStore never used them in the first place” says Pam.

In future Pam will be looking at using the general cleaner to clean the floors and toilets which means buying three products instead of five. “We’ve set up a dedicated bench where the products are kept in pump-top containers with dispensing instructions clearly marked. This makes using the products very easy” says Pam.

There have been no problems with the products so Pam cannot comment on EcoStore’s support systems. However, she believes that small businesses using small quantities of product might struggle to buy enough to obtain the wholesale price. One way to address this issue is by having a number of small businesses combine their orders. “If other small businesses would like to purchase Eco Store products at wholesale prices they can do so through us in the first instance but in the long run it would be best if one of the local distribution businesses takes on this role. Either way, both our environment and I are very happy with the decision to go with EcoStore” says Pam.
